Maine CDC has detected West Nile Virus in deceased Cumberland County wildlife. WNV is a mosquito-borne viral illness that can cause disease in humans, birds, and other mammals. While mosaquito season is on it's way out as we wait for that first frost, we wanted to provide access to information on the virus, symptoms, and how to protect yourself.
